The Consequences

Lake Tahoe just an average lake?

Lake Tahoe In Depth 2D 960×720 from Steven McQuinn on Vimeo.

How well have we, as a Nation, followed through with special designations and treatment of our National Treasure, to protect and preserve its natural bounty for all generations of Americans?

Where will you go when the shores are crowded with buildings and choked with algae, traffic is horrific, special interests rule, and, sadly, Lake Tahoe is just another average lake?

What does this say about our values as Americans?

The Consequences

Most of the un-built land left in the small towns around the lake will be paved or developed. Much like the development of the Tahoe Keys project that destroyed the largest marshland at the lake. Source: USGS.gov

Developers will be allowed to jam 197’, 95’ and 56’ high structures against the main roadways around the Lake.

More traffic will be added to peak traffic-jam periods. Photo Source: Lake Tahoe News

Without public outcry, the TRPA and its local jurisdiction dominance, will move with all possible speed to maximize building projects, while ignoring the environmental thresholds.
